A Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM) está promovendo o 9º Fórum de Extensão e Cultura até sexta-feira, dia 12, no PDE, Bloco B-33. Na pauta, conferências, palestras, apresentação de paineis e comunicação oral, teatro e apresentação artística. Na solenidade de abertura, nesta quarta-feira, dia 10, o pró-reitor de Extensão e Cultura, José Gilberto Catunda Sales, concentrou sua fala numa comparação entre a letra do Hino da Cidadania, escrita por Antonio Camargo Maio e composta por José Ribeiro da Costa (Tijolo), e a situação atual e a extensão. Comentou que homens e mulheres de bem levam o conhecimento a toda sociedade e que a extensão faz esse papel de levar todo conhecimento produzido pela ciência e pelo ensino. Disse que a prima pobre tem se tornado a prima rica por conta do compartilhamento do saber, das informações e das realizações da universidade. Citou o programa UEM em Ação, vinculado à PEC, como uma das formas de a universidade ir até a sociedade. A chefe de Gabinete, Magda Félix de Oliveira, destacou a excelência que a extensão tem alcançado na UEM. Ressaltou que, se alguém comentar que a Instituição está dentro de seus muros, está equivocado porque a UEM não apenas saiu de seu interior em Maringá como na região. Lembrou ainda que todo esse trabalho foi feito com a participação da juventude que são os alunos.
